The company has entered a partnership with Firebrand Training for the scheme, which will cover areas including data access, manipulation, analysis and reporting.
While many organisations have developed their own data apprenticeship initiatives, including the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and Comparethemarket owner BGL Group to name just two, the SAS Data Analyst Apprenticeship is fully funded by the Government to develop and harness talent in areas like science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem).
With Firebrand’s programmes, it is claimed that SAS data analysts benefit from a range of accelerated training as part of their qualification.
Firebrand Training managing director of apprenticeships Stefano Capaldo said: “We [will] bring data analysis skills to so many more organisations through our partnership with SAS, and we are confident it will help our existing partners understand how they can expand their use of apprenticeships to benefit the whole organisation.
“Firebrand’s distinction rates are well above the sector average of 30%, with around 50% of apprentices achieving distinctions at endpoint assessment.”
SAS UK & Ireland head of education Myles Hannon added: “The SAS Data Analyst Apprenticeship is a proven approach to acquiring SAS knowledge and skills through a fast and interactive learning programme. Many employers are failing to use the Apprenticeship Levy to develop analytical skills within their organisations.”
