The strongest-ever shortlist for the DataIQ Awards 2019 has been announced with 63 different brands in the running across the field. Among the 100 entries selected for judging in 20 categories, a record level of Data Titans is represented, making up 57 of the candidates vying for honours. There was a 24% increase in the number of entries submitted overall compared to 2018.
Aviva, Barclays, Channel 4, Merkle Aquila, Royal Mail and Walgreens Boots Alliance have made a strong showing, garnering four selections each, with Barclaycard, GoCo Group, Paragon Customer Communications, REaD Group, RBS and Wunderman each sitting on three. Once again, the awards are run in association with Tealium.
David Reed, knowledge and strategy director at DataIQ said: “Judging this year’s entries will have been particularly challenging for our panel of Data Titans - the quality of entries was remarkable. It is clear that practitioners and leaders in this sector have tremendous stories to tell and have also acknowledged the value of getting recognised by winning an award. We are now seeing DataIQ Awards referenced in recruitment ads, internal presentations and even business cases. I expect this shortlist to accelerate the status of our awards even more.”
Entries are scored individually by judges, avoiding conflicts of interest, with the highest combined scores in each category providing the winners. The overall highest score across all categories provides the Grand Prix winner - the highest accolade available. The results are a closely-guarded secret until the gala Awards event on 10th July which this year is being held in the iconic Victoria and Albert Museum.
