Global provider of passenger, ramp and cargo handling services, Menzies Aviation, is upgrading its business intelligence and analytics solution to provide staff across the organisation with mobile access to critical operational data. Its goal is to allow all staff, from operational managers, cargo managers and safety officers, to get actionable insight via any device on or off-site.
Menzies Aviation is upgrading to Qlik Sense in order to spread this access and also to allow its internal applications to connect with data from external sources, such as weather, which may have an impact on the running of its operations. Predictive analytics will be applied to key risk drivers using Qlik, capturing, categorising and analysing every one with the goal of preventing re-occurrence. Dashboards will show the number and type of inspections being carried out on and off-ramp which are critical to the security of passengers and staff.
Andras Horvath, head of business intelligence, Menzies Aviation, said: “We prefer to set standards rather than chase them. As a long-time customer of Qlik, we’ve seen the benefits that the sophisticated analytics platform has had on the running of our operations, from improving customer satisfaction through to helping enhance our safety and security practices.”
He added: “Using Qlik Sense will allow management to drive the business forward in a more efficient manner, having critical data at their fingertips at all times. The easy integration with a wide variety of APIs and user-friendly interfaces will enable us to create dashboards that are better suited to the needs of the business.”
The new solution will give staff at all levels at-a-glance insights without the need to be at a desktop, submitting a request to IT or processing the whole infrastructure. Automated, pre-scheduled reports on aircraft and cargo checks will be delivered to staff to support their on-time performance.
