According to research by CA Technologies, it takes an organisation an average of three months to create a compliance plan and another three months to implement it.
This means projects launched before December this year should be complete in time for the May 25 GDPR compliance deadline, but the same survey also found that 54% doubt that their testing processes will be compliant by the time enforcement begins.
By becoming the sole distributor in the South of England for Syrenis' new technology, The Preference Centre, DQM GRC claims it has expanded its GDPR capabilities and can help organisations achieve compliance when it comes to managing and auditing how consumers handle permissions – well ahead of the May 2018 deadline.
The Preference Centre is a secure, cloud-based application that allows for enterprise-wide collation and management of consumer preferences across multiple channels and brands, integrating with existing in-house and third-party systems.
Syrenis insists that any commercial or non-profit enterprise that deploys The Preference Centre to manage consumer permissions will be 100% compliant with GDPR and the new fundraising regulatory framework.
The system has been designed from the ground up to allow consumers direct access to their preferences, giving them control over communications channels and specific communications subjects.
The Preference Centre is built to work alongside an organisation's existing infrastructures, such as email marketing platforms and CRM systems, and Syrenis claims that its capability to push and pull preference data into other application platforms makes it the lowest cost method of allowing for enterprise preference management.
DQM GRC development director Peter Galdies said "RegTech is an emerging industry but one that is now crucially important in the build-up to May 2018. We believe that platforms like this will not only help organisations build a quicker and more straightforward route to GDPR compliance, but will also allow them to create more open, trusting relationships with customers and prospects; driving brand and business value."
Syrenis chief executive Nicola Watson added: "We are delighted to be working closely with DQM GRC, whose experienced consultants and system integrators really understand the challenges and opportunities created by the GDPR and, importantly, understand how to ensure data, related processes and the technology fit together. Working with DQM GRC will ensure that any commercial or non-profit enterprise that deploys The Preference Centre to manage consumer permissions will be 100% compliant with the GDPR and the new fundraising regulatory framework."
