Recruitment: How do we get graduates to consider data and analytics?
Demand for talent to fuel the growth of data and analytics continues to grow which means new practitioners are urgently needed. With STEM subjects seeing a resurgence among students, there is clearly an opportunity to tap into this growing pool of candidates.
To do that, the data and analytics sector will need to gain higher visibility at the key points in the education process - while students are taking their A-levels and in their second or third years at university. At the moment, only limited efforts are being made, most of them independent activities by brands and vendors during the Milk Round.
So can a more focused approach be adopted with industry-wide support? Or is the best solution to develop a framework, materials and a playbook so that every company engaging with students is delivering a common message?
During this breakfast briefing, the conversation will cover current ways in which students and graduates are being recruited to identify common themes. Ideas for an industry initiative will be explored with a view to building-out consensus and a game plan.
