The DataIQ Awards honour companies and individuals that have demonstrated excellence in the data industry over the past 12 months. For the first time ever, a new DEI category will spotlight organisations that have taken the lead in recruiting and developing talent from under-represented demographics.

David Reed, knowledge and strategy director at DataIQ, said: “As attention has been drawn to societal inequities in the wake of the pandemic, DEI has been pushed to the top of the data agenda. We are excited to be recognising those organisations and individuals that are helping to make the data industry more inclusive for all.”

Rockborne is an expert provider of specialist data and analytics consultants. It employs diverse, talented and ambitious STEM graduates who are immersed in a powerful combination of bespoke data, technical, business and interpersonal training to meet the needs of leading global companies.

“Everyone has their part to play in recognising and acting on inequality of all kinds in the workplace – as data professionals we have the tools at our disposal to take evidence-based action on diversity and inclusion,” added Rockborne CEO Neil Berry. “At Rockborne we truly believe that we get better decisions, ideas and talent by removing barriers to employment and training at the earliest stages of people’s careers, and we look to celebrate the success of others in making data as diverse as possible.”

Now in its 10th year, the ceremony will spotlight great work, people and teams in 25 categories across five focus areas, including:

  • People
  • Culture
  • Data literacy
  • Innovation
  • Data for good

DataIQ received a record 292 submissions in 2021, up from 202 in 2020. A full list of last year’s winners can be seen here. Adrian Gregory, co-founder and CEO at DataIQ said: “The opportunity to use data for the benefit of business, the economy and society has never been greater. The DataIQ Awards play a crucial role by recognising the very best of the great work that is taking place, celebrating and elevating the data and analytics industry and the power to use data for good.”
