How Materials Are Recycled
PRE - TREATMENT
Before any material recycling occurs there is a degree of manual sorting and separation.
This allows for certain difficult or hazardous materials to be treated and sorted by hand rather than being shredded and separated.
SIZE REDUCTION
All materials after Pre-Treatment are batched before entering the Treatment process.

Materials enter through a dual shaft shredder, which reduces the materials into chunk sized fragments of mixed material.
This material is passed along a conveyor leading to a specialist granulator. The material is then reduced in size further whilst ensuring efficient liberation of mixed materials.

The liberated mixed materials discharge into the separation area of the Treatment process.

SEPARATION
The mixed materials are passed under an overband magnet removing all ferrous fragments.
Remaining non ferrous materials are vibratory fed into a ECS manchine, where Aluminium fractions are separated.
All materials after passing through the ECS are then vibratory feed in to the final separation system.

Essentially, this separation occurs like a mechanized gold pan, that operates with a high degree of efficiency.
The mixed materials discharge into key grades: Organic Fractions - Middling - PM Fractions.
The graded materials are then sent within the UK, to reprocessors which then utilise the raw materials taken from Computers and Electronic equipment.
